The Randall L. Jones Theatre with its new marquee: Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts

Though 55 years old, the Utah Shakespeare Festival is shiny and new this season. With the dedication Thursday of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts, which includes the Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA) and Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre, the festival will find a new home in state-of-the-art facilities on a single block of the campus of Southern Utah University in Cedar City. The Adams Shakespearean Theatre (built in 1977) was the setting for many fabulous performances over the years, and  longtime fans may feel a pang of nostalgia for the festival’s old haunts,  but if these preview images are anything to go by, there is much to look forward to in the festival’s new home.
